Debbie, Ray and their staff welcome you to their fabulous tea rooms, which have been designed to afford superior classic surroundings, food and service for the comfort of their patrons. Put aside any notions of dangling a tea bag in a mug. Think instead of silver teapots and fine bone china. The finest leaf teas, served by friendly uniformed staff. Cream tea is a big attraction here. Expect large fruit scones topped with clotted cream and strawberry preserve with a large choice of tea or coffee, presented to perfection on a silver 3 tier stand.
Visitors can also be refreshed with fine wines, speciality beers and exquisite champagnes to be served with their food. The Westminster Tea Rooms serve speciality 2 and 3 course Sunday roasts, home made soups, Southport potted shrimps, home made steak and kidney pie, fisherman's pie, vegetarian bake, vegetarian nut roast or quorn fillet. We also serve Cumberland sausage, Stilton and bacon toasties (amongst others), ice cream deserts such as brandy and grand marnier ice cream cake, chocolate glory, royal mint, as well as traditional puddings, waffles, cakes and pastries that you would expect to find in this high class establishment.

Often go here for my lunch.
Have you ever been to Harrogate and Betty's tea rooms experience. Well Southport has something just as good, may even be better.
Westminster tea rooms and real china cups, you know tea tasted much better out of china.
and steak and kidney pie tastes much better on real china plates.
In joke, Tell Ray the antiqueman sent you.
Love the place.

I was lucky enough to be given a voucher for Westminster Tea Rooms for afternoon tea for two, wow ... what an experience!
I have never been to Betty's Tea Rooms in Harrogate, but i've peeped through the door and I think our smaller version is much nicer, more intimate.
Our afternoon tea was amazing, their attention to detail is faultless. There's something weirdly satisfying about pouring freshly brewed tea from a silver teapot into a bone china cup through a silver sieve. The sandwiches are delicious, the cakes beautifully presented and the scones with jam and clotted cream fabulously decadent.
You don't have to go the whole hog though, we've also been in for just tea and cake and this little smidge of luxury proves a welcome escape from the modern world.
Highly recommended.

Take a trip back when service mattered. A little bit of Old England.
