A nice restaurant in the centre of Birkdale village. The decor is modern, with lovely hand-painted murals of vegetables on the walls. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside - goes back a long way.
We've been twice and on both occassions the manager and staff have been very friendly and attentive.
The food is Italian style (as you might have guessed from the name!) There are pizzas and pasta, steaks and always some interesting offers on the specials board. We had fish stew, which was full of flavour and full of fish and seafood. The pizzas are good too.
The coffee is lovely, my only criticism is that the desserts are very small portions. My partner ordered something called a Chocolate Nemesis - when it arrived it was about the size of a finger of kit-kat! If they think that is his Nemesis, they obviously don't know him!

Lovely restaurant & decor with very attentive staff. 3 of us went for a meal & had lovely starters however when the mains arrived the 2 steak dishes (a fillet & a rib eye) were inedible due to over salting The pepper sauce was blamed)! Complained to the staff & meals immediately removed including sides are fresh meals cooked (offered to change my wifes lasagna so it would arrive with the new steak dishes but she declined as hers was lovely) New steak dishes arrived & the steak seemed ok as did the sauce but when combined the dishes were overly salted again (can only presume the sauce & steaks were seasoned & when combined over seasoned) We ate the meals as just overly salty unlike the first effort that was inedible! Staff asked how our meal was & we informed them & were greeted with a sorry. The bill was £90 for the 3 of us with no reduction for poor quality food. This is the first time I have ever complained about a meal in a restaurant & hopefully the last.

Been to the restuarant a few times and its a welcome addition to Birkdale village, just now need a good Indian and Chinese restaurant. Service is good and decor is stylish. Beer and wine good quality and reasonable prices.
Best stick to the pizza and pasta which is really good, better than the chain restuarants. However I have found that the steaks, lamb etc do not match these. For steaks etc Verite's can't be beaten. However for a reasonable night out with good pizza you can't go wrong!

I plan to visit some of these restaurants soon. The only problem I have is that I won't be able to go to YO Ranch Steakhouse, and that was one of the top 3 destinations on my list. I am in a real dilemma right now.
