Bellis Kennan Gribble & Co (formerly trading as Bellis Son & Ashton) is one of the oldest practices in Southport having commenced in business in Southport over 100 years ago. This firm has acted for generations of Southport families in all aspects of legal work. The senior partner David Attwood has been working out of the Southport office since 1979 succeeding the late Mr Bellis who had been the residence partner since 1930 (who was incidentally during the Second World War the Adjutant General of Madagascar!).

Mr Attwood is one of the few solicitors in the area who is able to deal with a number of different aspects of law including conveyancing, probate, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, general litigation, commercial litigation, matrimonial matters and specialising in commercial leases and commercial and residential developments.

The firm is proud of its reputation as a “niche” practice and is one of the few firms who have not found it necessary (or appropriate) to advertise its services and which has relied throughout its history upon personal recommendations and continues to do so.
