I have to admit spending a large percentage of my A-level days at Southport College at Nabbs in 71-73. There many lunch times, and often forgot to go back. Good steak and kidney pie there I seem to remember.

    Thumbs up Nabbs

Glad to hear of another as silly as me. I first attened Nabbs in
1951 with Barry Sedgeley, Keith Kennedy, Alan Ratcliffe, Danny Lenahan. We often wagged school to play on. The owner at the time was a very tall man called DON ?. I guess when you attened Tony Boyd owned it (I was one of the fools that taught Tony to play). It had 5 Tables and the favourite was 4. The tigtest pockets were 2. I continued my snooker education at The YMCA, The County Club and various other temperance clubs that prevailed in those far off days. The Gladsstone Liberal was an example (Sussex Road Area almost into Blowick) The Shakepear Pub had a real top table at the time too ( was a Jaques Atlas)
I played on it when I worked at Jimmy Fay's having tightened the new cloth.

    Nabbs

I think Gerry Morrison had something to do with Nabbs but that was in the 60s - this club has been discussed ad infinitum on www.virtualsouthport.co.uk and you can speak to Mike Dolan who's age group crosses the late 1950s and 1960s - he is a mine of drunken memories.

I often went to nabbs in the 70's. The late Tony Boyd and Keith Kennedy owned the club then.

    Tony Boyd

    Stuart
You shook me me to my heels! Tony Boyd gone? Please tell when and how. Last time I played Tony was 1974 or 75 at Southport and Birkdale Cricket club, I played for Mere Brow. (An aside Bettty Riley was Barperson one of the most beautiful girls I ever went out with) KK thought himself a great player, the opposite in fact was truth. He played with a 14oz cue and had had his ability matched his enthusiasm he would have been world champion.

Remember the name of Les Dodds top left but know the faces
I think it may well be the British Rail Club Snooker team
Les was one of the best players in S'port
Recognise KK too so this could have been the Fleetwood Hesketh Team
Used to play at YM with guy with Moustache but damned if I can remember his name is.
