Rainbow House raised over £2,000 with its a new 'Recycle your Christmas Tree' service to save people time and hassle in the New Year.

A team of volunteers collected over 200 recycled Christmas trees last weekend from the areas surrounding the Rainbow House base in Mawdesley covering Chorley, Horwich, Blackrod, Shevington, Ormskirk, Scarisbrick, Hesketh Bank,Croston, Longton, Leyland, Bamber Bridge and more.

Organiser Emma Parish, Community Fundraiser at Rainbow House, was delighted with the result, telling QLocal: "We had a brilliant time on our first Christmas Tree Recycling Mission!

"The weather was on our side and we collected over 200 trees thanks to a group of amazing volunteers without whom it would not have been possible and we cannot thank them enough.

"Thank you to every who supported us by donating for their tree to be collected and special thanks to Veolia, A.P. Broome, and Phil Evans, Brysdales, Yesss Electrical, Jambo Property Services, Charlie Smith and Automotive Export Ltd, Viking Tree Services, The Tree Barn At Blackrod, Virago Stars Owners Club (centre 6),Booths at Burscough and Sainsbury’s at Bispham Rd, Southport."

The funds raised will be used to help Rainbow House continue to support children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities.
