Woodlands Animal Sanctuary would like to let you know that they are open again, this weekend 17th & 18th April to collect your old or unwanted clothes and shoes.
On both Saturday and Sunday, 11-3pm you can get rid of the clutter from your wardrobe ready to freshen it up now the shops have reopened, all the while helping a local animal charity continue their life saving work. But not only that! Your unwanted clothes will be passed onto other people who really need them, meaning everyone is a winner!
Woodlands have been incredibly busy recently. They have been involved in several rescues from multi-cat households, which has meant very poorly cats at best and very poorly pregnant cats and kittens at worst. Kitten season is upon them, hedgehog admittance numbers are increasing, hoglets are around the corner and these are on top of all the usual admittances they see – this is without mentioning the increased numbers of unwanted cats due to Covid.
Just this week they have taken in another four kittens from a multi-cat household and these four are full of flu. The vet has seen them and they are being treated, but unfortunately there is a chance that one of them maybe so poorly that they end up losing an eye. It is such a shame when something like this happens, but the team will do their very best for them and your clothes will help not only these babies but many more too!
Providing the care that these poorly and vulnerable animals so desperately need costs money, and money, for most people is in short supply, especially at the moment. But, simply by clearing out your wardrobe and donating your clothes and shoes you will become a part of the answer for this animal charity and the incredibly deserving animals they have in their care. Every kilo counts and the charity will receive money based on the weight of the donations.
The Woodlands team ask that you bag up your donations prior to dropping them off, but if you have a donation and are not able to drive then please do contact the rescue and they will endeavour to collect it from you. The drop off point is at their site in Holmeswood, post code L40 1UE.
