Its December and Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are feeling very grateful and proud. The independent registered animal charity, have made it through another year thanks to all the support they have received from so many different people.
Support Adoption for Pets have been like their Fairy Godmother, not only enabling them to build the cattery of their dreams, after receiving a whopping £178k grant from them last year, but they have just given them a lifeline grant of £5000 which will go directly towards the care of the animals they are looking after.
This grant is very much needed because of the difficulties the rescue has had this year due to Covid restrictions, all but eliminating their usual fundraising activities. Sourcing in excess of £3500 weekly is not a small task, and when organisation such as Support Adoption for Pets feel that Woodlands is a worthy enough cause for them to support – it really gives the team a morale boost, not to mention assisting with finances.
It can also be seen where money such as this, and all the many donations their supporters give them goes, when you look at their rehoming figures. Almost doubling from this time last year, Woodlands waved, in a Covid safe way, 17 kittens off to their very own, specifically chosen loving forever homes last weekend! The team think that is a record for them in one weekend and they wish all of the kittens a very happy life with their new family and look forwards to hearing updates.
Due to donations from their amazing supporters, Woodlands are also able to take in more cats, so they once again have a full shelter, and will be rehoming these latest admittances once they have been given the all clear from their vet. Knowing where your money goes when you give to a charity is really important, and Woodlands look to keep their supporters updated via various different platforms so as to include as many people as possible.
If you would like to find out more about Woodlands you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or visit their website:
www.woodlandsanimalsanctuary.org.uk They are not open to the public on a daily basis, (even when Covid restrictions are not in place) but usually would have several open days throughout the year, when you would be able to visit them on site. They also have various new initiatives in the pipeline, where you can visit their site and meet the animals for when restrictions allow – so keep your eyes peeled for news of those.
