Fine weather and one of the highest tides of the year saw plenty of people taking a walk along the seafront today. According to the Met Office the fine weather is set to continue into the weekend.

i am on the seafront most days.....nice to see the sea again..a rare sight...i read in the media that sea levels are rising...so why since i was a child the sea level in southport seems to be dropping not rising...even with our seashore being deposited with sand from formby etc..the water level does not seem as high as in the seventies....are we being lied to by various well paid scientists...to keep themselves in 6 figure salaries???

The sea comes in twice a day, yes sometimes it is relatively far out. The moon plays a big part in the height of the tides
