Southport head on the road tonight as they travel to the Horsfall Stadium to take on Bradford Park Avenue.

Liam Watson’s side are without a win in their last three games, and will be hoping to get back on track.

After a solid start to the campaign, The Port will want to replicate their October form.

Opposition:

Following a season to forget, where they finished in 22nd place with only 20 points, Bradford have made a better start this time round.

With two wins in six games already in the Vanarama National League North, they are only three off matching last year’s number of victories.

One of their two draws this campaign came last time out, as they were involved in a 4-4 thriller against Gloucester City.

The man in charge:

Mark Bower is currently overseeing his second spell in charge of The Green Army.

The former defender initially took over the role in 2016.

After stepping down at the beginning of last year, it didn’t take long for him to return to the club.

During his playing career the 40-year-old spent 12 years with Bradford City, before moving onto to teams including Darlington and Guiseley.

Key man:

Oli Johnson has enjoyed a good start to this campaign.

The striker, who has been with The Green Army on a permanent basis since 2017, has scored three times so far, including a brace against Hereford.

Last meetings:

Southport enjoyed a good trip to the Horsfall stadium last season.

Ryan Astles and Devarn Green had both scored, before David Morgan put the icing on the cake with a superb strike to complete a 0-3 victory.

Meanwhile in the second meeting between the two sides, Bradford came away from the Pure Stadium after a 3-3 draw.

Former Port defender, Billy Priestley scored a late equaliser to claim the point.

Final Thoughts:

With back to back defeats, Southport will be eager to stop this bad run of form.

After their decent start to the season, Bradford will be more of a handful than the last visit to the Horsfall Stadium.
