Many thanks to the Champ for raising a few smiles in its new 'picture of the week' column in last week's paper.

The recent retirement of ace snapper Martyn Snape after 20 odd years at the paper has seen this new feature introduced were members of the public submit their own prize photos.

So far, so good but last week's caption naming a flamingo as a swan ruffled a few feathers with bird watchers, some of whom called Martin Mere reporting the blooper.
