THE VICTORIA HOTEL used to be on the corner of the Promenade and Nevill Street. It was built in 1865, and demolished in 1971, and is now a modern block of apartments.
During WW2 the Civil Service used the Hotel, and from 1942-47, the building became a Royal Naval Hospital.
