Partially Blocked, accident, queueing Traffic,
Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to accident on A565 Liverpool Road near Coastal Road. Congestion to Segars Lane heading South. Affecting traffic heading between Formby and Southport.

Bit puzzled as to how it affects Segars Lane? highlighted in blue is Meadow Lane & Sandbrook Road nowhere near Segars Lane!

The congestion was right back along Liverpool Road as far as Segars Lane.

I think the lights at that junction need to be staggered a bit longer. Once one goes red the other immediately goes green and the number of times I’ve seen cars amber gamble, or even go through on the turn of red is incredible. I think that was the probable cause of this accident. I went by this junction at about 06:10 this morning and there were about four cars strewn all over the junction.

Nothing wrong with the lights, it's the moronic drivers who as you say amber gamble or simply carry on through on red that cause the accidents.
