Local company RAL Architects Ltd have been awarded the contract for architectural aspects of Southport Pier.

The contract runs from 14th November 2023 till 31st May 2024 valued at £38,200.

The Council requires to engage design and specialist services to progress the design, development and delivery of the Pier refurbishment.

The scope of the Project to which your service shall be provided shall include the refurbishment works to the Pier consisting of the full replacement of timber decking, all or part of the timber softwood sub-base as well as the installation of security gates and CCTV. Phase 1, consisting of the replacement of bays 1-6 has now been completed, with the Pier remaining open while these works took place. Therefore, the Scope of the Project includes bays 7 to 68 (Phase 2), which is an area of circa 8,806 sqm.

Wouldnt they be better spending £38000 on joiners to put the boards down?
£38000, not bad wages for 6 months "work".

So are you saying they should pay to have the old boards put back down and then again to replace with new?
