Merseyside Police are investigating an armed robbery on 9th February at McColl’s Convenience Store on County Road, Walton.


Armed response officers were called to the scene just after 6.15pm following reports that a man had entered the shop, believed to be carrying a handgun and demanded money from the till before making off on foot.


The offender is described as medium build, in his 30s with a brown beard and wearing a blue jacket with paint splatters on it, jeans, black trainers and a black backpack.


DC Nick Glascott-Tull said: "Luckily no one was injured but both shop assistants have been left feeling understandably shaken by the ordeal.


"This is a hugely serious offence and for someone to show absolutely no regard for the safety of the general public by carrying a gun so carelessly is very worrying. We are doing all we can to analyse CCTV and undertake forensic analysis as a matter of urgency to ensure we can trace the person responsible as quickly as possible.
