Merseyrail passengers endured another day of issues on the network.
Tweets today from Merseyrail included:
Due to a signal fault in the Moorfields Northern area, Northern line services are currently meeting with delay.
Kirkby services will now start and terminate at Sandhills. Passengers for Liverpool are advised to change here and use Hunts Cross/ Liverpool bound services.
Due to a signal fault at Moorfields, all Northern Line services are meeting with delay.
All services are temporarily at a stand while engineers enter the track area to investigate the fault.
Due to a signal fault at Moorfields Northern-
The 0813 Southport (0855 Moorfields) to Hunts Cross will now run directly between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross.
Due to a signal fault at Moorfields Northern-
Southport, Hunts Cross and Ormskirk services continue to meet with delays up to 15 minutes.
Kirkby Line services continue to start and terminate at Sandhills.
The repairs to the signal equipment have now been completed and services can now resume through Moorfields and Liverpool.
All Northern line services will remain subject to possible delay and alterations until a full timetable can be restored.
Due to late running following an earlier signal fault-
The 1228 Southport (1310 Moorfields) to Hunts Cross will now run directly between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross
Due to late running caused by @NetworkRail signalling issues:
The 1523 service from Liverpool Central to Southport will now run non to Southport calling at Waterloo, Formby and Southport only.
Due to late running caused by @networkrail signalling issues:
The 1608 service from Liverpool Central to Southport will now run non to Southport calling at Waterloo, Formby and Southport only.
Latest at 19:30 pm Friday
Due to an ongoing fault with the signalling system in the Moorfields area, it is likely that Kirkby line services will terminate and start back at Sandhills tomorrow (2nd July).

The Merseyrail network operates to a very tight timetables schedule due to the fact that three lines are only served by two platforms at Central - hence its normally impressive punctuality record.
