The annual event organised by ‘Liverpool Taxi Drivers Children in Care Outing Fund’ provides the opportunity for children in care from across Merseyside to enjoy a wonderful day out.
The annual event started back in 1985, and has gone from strength to strength since then.

I used to work at southport fairground In the treasury (cash) office for BPB around 1992 ish and I have seen the faces on these kids when they had the run of the place free gratis, the taxi drivers that do this and some have done it for years are today’s real heroes. I used to organise tours of a sweet factory For the kids of Chernobyl when I was the chairman of the social and charity committee for leaf UK . ( they all be dead now )
It might seem like just a day out to us but to a child’s mind it’s magical .
Well done all involved, one smile from one kid pays for all the fuel all the day .
Superheroes are quiet people .

I too remember these days out from when I worked at the fair on one of Herbert's rides. The only day in the year when fiddling the change was outlawed by common consensus.
