A spokesperson for Southport rescue said...
Whilst we want everyone to be able enjoy our coastline during this lovely weather, we rely on people parking sensibly, especially around the Marine Drive slip way where we access the beach.
Today we are unable to get our lifeboat onto the beach as members of the public have illegally parked on top of the slip way, despite double yellow lines and clear signs.
Thankfully, the one call out we have had today was stood down whilst the crew were on their way to the station, but selfish actions like this could put lives at risk.
Please park sensibly so that our volunteers can help those who may need our help!
We wish everyone a Happy Easter and hope you enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

Why black out the registration plates? Pass the photos on to the authorities and let the selfish twunts be fined.
