Southport FC can confirm that defender Jack Sanders has joined the club on loan from Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.

Southport supporters may remember Jack appearing for Blyth Spartans in the game at Croft Park in December.

The Latics player began his career in non-league, first appearing for Charnock Richard before being snapped up by Leek Town in 2018.

Sanders then caught the eye of Wigan and moved to the DW Stadium in the summer for an undisclosed fee.

He signed an initial one-year deal with Wigan and has since developed in the club’s academy. Thanks to Wigan for their assistance in allowing Jack to join the club.

The move is subject to FA approval.
