Graffiti vandals have painted a slogan on a hoarding belonging to Aldi on Meols Cop Road. It has been attributed to Bill Gates saying that the world's population needs to be reduced by 10-15%.

There is no record of him saying this.

It's a very modern phenomenon. The tendency to demonstrate your stupidity in public. In some ways, it's a great thing. None of that tedious conversation to find out someone is thick...because they show you.

It's a classic of one of the drawbacks of social media. Someone somewhere sees a quote, doesn't understand its context and relays it to the gagging masses who add it to their repertoire.

Yes, Bill Gates is in favour of reducing population. In the third world. And especially the endless vicious circle where people have large families, because of early mortality, with the intention of there being family to care for them in old age. But BECAUSE they have large families there is widespread deprivation, which then leads to deaths, and on and on...

That's why so much of his money has gone into vaccines and birth control.Rightly.

But of course the k+++heads who did this graffiti don't get that. They connect what he said to Covid and the Covid vaccine.

If Gates, or others, wanted to reduce western population, he could so it FAR more effectively than via Covid. But as he isn't, he hasn't.

But you keep telling us it's perfectly feasible to carry out normal day to day activities on a bike? Transporting a tin of paint and a brush surely, according to you, should present no problems at all?

That would require a sufficient level of intelligence to first equip a bike with pannier bags....but the ones who did this were obviously thick as bricks!
