After a Good Friday victory Southport are straight back into action as they return home to face Kidderminster Harriers on Easter Monday.
Goals from Dion Charles, Jack Sampson and Marcus Wood helped the Port on their way to a 3-0 win over Curzon Ashton.
That result helped Liam Watson’s side move up to 11th in the Vanarama National League North, only one place behind Monday’s opponents Kidderminster Harriers.
There are currently seven points separating the teams and the visitors still have a faint hope of finishing in the play-off places.
With two games remaining of the season, Mark Yates’ side will need to win both games and hope results elsewhere go their way in order to bridge the five-point gap needed for a top seven finish.
Those hopes took a blow last time out as they were defeated 2-1 by Leamington, despite an early Joe Ironside goal giving Kiddy the lead.
Ironside has scored 11 times since returning to Kidderminster in January from, with 15 in total this season.
Six of those goals have come in the strikers last five games, which have seen the Reds win twice but lose three times.
This year has been a disappointment compared to last season when they finished fourth.
Southport have already found weakness in Kidderminster this season, as they came away from Aggborough 4-1 winners.
Jack Sampson was on target twice, whilst Jason Gilchrist and Charles also got their names on the scoresheet in what was an emphatic first half for Liam Watson’s side.
The game will be the last home game at the Merseyrail Community Stadium this season, and Southport will be hoping to finish things in a positive way, whilst Kidderminster will want to keep fighting despite the slim chance of reaching their target.
