Damien has spoken at the start of his campaign to be re-elected as MP for Southport in the December election.

"Thank you to everyone who turned out in the rain to help me launch my re-election campaign.

"A great turnout and an even better response on the doorstep.

"Our message is clear: whether you voted leave or remain, we need to get Brexit done.

"A vote for Jeremy Corbyn and his candidate in Southport will only lead to more dither and delay."

"Our message is clear: whether you voted leave or remain, we need to get Brexit done."

So those of us with strongly held opinions that Brexit is the worse possible thing for ourselves and our families for generations to come should just roll over and vote for a party that is going to implement it just to 'get it done'?
Sorry, I don't think so Damien!

Leaving the EU with or without a deal does not get Brexit done. It is just the start of years and years of negotiations.

Looks to me like the Remain vote is going to split virtually right down the middle both locally and nationally while on the Leave side TBP may scrape 10% if they're lucky. I think Mr Moore can be reasonably confident of being returned but it's likely to be close.

I also predicted that the Tories would win with a majority of 50 in 2017.

Tactically voting for yellow Tories will not help Southport, we should not forget how little the Pugh years benefitted Southport among with the Southport unfriendly policies they supported. The Lib Dem leader was more Tory than most of the Tories when in government.....

as for “Liberal”, one of the few things JP rebelled on during coalition.

overall, in my view the Lib Dem’s are the least trustworthy of parties as they’ll spin on a sixpence first power or if it goes against personal views.

And we should not forget that the Dumbian years have done nothing for Southport, a few exaggerations and self promotion aside.

And as for trustworthiness, the Tories are lead by the most untrustworthy PM, for whom lying is a practised art form.

John Pugh was MP for 15 years, you'd think there would be at least one thing to show for it other than the plethora of southport unfriendly policies he voted for and he was just as bad on the photo opportunities. The lib dems also channelled MP expenses into renting their office off another Lib Dem which is not usually talked about.

As for John Wright, he'll do no better in my view and remarkable statements about southport given only 2 years ago:

He says nothing would make him prouder than to serve the constituency he calls home

A lib vote is a wasted vote, they won't get a majority and if we're stuck with a Lib Dem MP we will get nothing but the same bitterness and divisiveness spread by Cllr Shaw and Cllr Dawson and probably the "Lib Dem Media Champions" they have recruited to spread "news":

Better than voting for a bunch snake oil salesmen, who stuck a lie on the bus and then filled the bus with liars. Even Farage was not allowed on board in case he said something truthful.

Thanks to Tory austerity we have lost libraries, A&E departments, school subjects due to reduced funding, and even public toilets. About time the Tories were flushed down the toilet where they belong.

I suggest you take a look at their leader, Jo Swinson's, voting record. She voted FOR the majority of austerity cuts including those that affect the disabled and AGAINST higher taxes for people on over £150k.

LibD literature showing how skewed bar charts and misleading information have been in the news lately too. One graph proclaiming a 2 horse race between Tory and LibDem had in teeny writing at the bottom 'imagine if this was the situation'...

Just so you know, the present LibDem leader voted FOR those austerity cuts!
