    A message from Merseyside Police.

Feedback from our communities in Southport has been concern about groups of teenagers responsible for anti-social behaviour out in several areas last night, and concern for some vulnerable elderly residents who appear to be going about as if everything is normal.

Parents, please remind your teenagers that this is not a holiday. They should be avoiding meeting up with friends or anyone who lives at another household, to reduce the risk of picking up and spreading the coronavirus.

Patrols will be out across the area tonight, checking the locations that we know our young people tend to gather, will disperse groups and may even take some home if required.

Elderly and vulnerable residents are strongly advised to follow the government's 'Stay At Home' instructions, to reduce the risk to themselves of contracting the infection.

My wife & I are in our 70s. Our 50 year old disabled son lives with us. We all have existing medical conditions that make us vulnerable. Our only other family is a daughter who lives over 100 miles away. She is a front line Doctor in the NHS.

We are reliant on food home delivery.

But our chemist insists that we collect our medications and our doctors only prescribe 4 weeks medication at a time. All our prescriptions are issued on different dates.

We " 'Stay At Home'" most of the time, but on average go out once a week to collect medications.

    Stay safe

Have you tried using green/red cards in your window.

    Green means you are O.K.
Red if you need some help.

Hopefully a friendly neighbour will know what it means and help you. Obviously only use somebody you know and trust with money/drugs etc.

The Police are advising against this as it attracts criminals to houses where they know from the cards, that vulnerable people live.
