Nominations are now being accepted for a major scheme that recognises Sefton residents who make a difference to life in their local communities.

Sefton 4 Good and the Mayor of Sefton’s Office are seeking entries for the latest round of their Citizens 4 Good initiative.

Citizens 4 Good was established to highlight the good deeds, kindness and support that local people provide to other members of their community.

Nominations can be made by anyone who thinks a particular person deserves to be recognised, including friends, neighbours, work colleagues, schools, community organisations and local councillors.

Mike Howlett, Senior Citizenship and Volunteering Officer for Sefton CVS, said: “Since launching this initiative last year, Citizens 4 Good has recognised 47 people for the contribution they have made to life in their neighbourhoods.

“The quality of entries has been outstanding, and we’re hoping for more of the same with the latest round of the scheme.”

Shortlisted nominees will be invited to a celebration event where they will be presented with a certificate by the Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Dave Robinson.

Cllr Robinson commented: “We’re delighted that Citizens 4 Good has been so well received over the past year, and we’re now looking forward to recognising even more Sefton residents for their good deeds.”

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 14th November, with the celebration event taking place on Thursday 22nd November in Southport.
