A car parked on Lord Street has received 3 parking tickets. The driver has purchased a pay and display ticket expiring at 13.18 on Friday.

Nobody has been back to remove the vehicle since then.

Let's hope the driver of the car is OK and not been taken ill somewhere.

I suppose this inane ticketing could be an early Christmas decoration theme.

What's inane about it? The car has been there 4 days, it needs 3 tickets before being removed.

    Thanks for the information.
I didn't know you needed three tickets before it could be removed.

I noticed this vehicle over the weekend, with being a Private Hire driver, and all the Hackney vehicles driving around the car,as it is parked on Lord Street, also parked facing any oncoming traffic, and it is also parked on the Main Hackney Rank area, which is used for normal parking up to 20.00pm,and is then used as a Hackney rank from the hours of 20.00pm up to about 07.00am, for 7 days a week, which some people do NOT realise, even with there being warning signs every 10 metres, and they come back to their vehicles, and a parking ticket on their windscreen has been issued.

Surely the authorities could check with the DVLA as to who the registered owner is,and where they live,to inform them where their vehicle is ?
Anything could have happened to the driver of this vehicle,or other reasons it still being parked there,as in they could have :
Forgot where they parked it,with them NOT being a local person ?
They could even be in a local hospital, taken ill over the weekend ?
Could even have been a visiter for the Airshow, with dementia or similar, and then got a lift home,or by train, forgetting that they had travelled to Southport in their own car ?
Or,it could have been stolen, and simply parked the car on Lord Street by whoever took it ?

If you were'nt making it obvious you had stolen it,then possibly yes,a couple of quid to park up,and then innocently walk away and leave it.

Innocently walk away and leave it in full view of CCTV on possibly the busiest street in Southport? Yeah sure.

People with dementia don't drive do they??, mind you that would explain a lot.
