Our Quads and UAS (drone) team were called upon in the evening to assist in the search for a missing male last seen on Formby Beach. Our quads and UAS proceeded to Lifeboat Road where they liaised with Crosby Coastguard Rescue Team. Soon-after the search commenced, information was received that the missing male had been located and all units were stood down.

Later that night, following reports of members of the public entering the beach on a flooding tide in search of a missing dog on Southport Beach, our UAS was requested at 21:30. Our UAS conducted a search north of Southport Pier to ensure no persons were on the beach and assisted in the search for the missing dog.

We would also like to advise against entering the beach under flooding tide conditions, especially during complete darkness. North of Southport Pier is particularly dangerous, with large channels that fill rapidly under flooding tidal conditions. It is easy to become cut-off. Thankfully, a search of the beach with the UAS confirmed that all involved had left the beach prior to our arrival.
