The club are very proud to announce that Dave Barnes has been selected by the Vanarama National League as their Volunteer of the Month for January.
A long-standing supporter and an ever-present at the Merseyrail Community Stadium, Dave commits more than thirty hours each week to volunteering at the ground.
He is first to get here, at 7.30am, seven days a week, to prepare the building for the arrival of the full-time staff.
As a retired joiner, he carries out numerous jobs around the stadium on a daily basis, which is a huge help to the club. On matchdays, he also takes on the role of kit man for both home and away fixtures.
Dave took up volunteering ten years ago to focus on something after his wife passed away.
He has just celebrated his 75th birthday and the club wanted to show their gratitude for the brilliant support he gives us.
Many congratulations Dave on a richly deserved award.
