Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify two women in this CCTV image.
We’d like to speak to these women as we believe they could have crucial information to help us investigating a theft from a shop in #Southport.
The incident is reported to have happened on 24th June, at around 3.15pm when two people have entered a shop on Chapel Street where they have stolen a number of perfumes.
If you recognise these women or have information to help us identify the offenders, then please get in touch @MerPolCC, by calling 101 or contacting @CrimestoppersUK anonymously quoting crime ref: 19100334140.
You may comment here but news always gets more discussion at our facebook.com/groups/southportnews

I suppose the police were hoping to identify them.

Yes, but they're always banging on about wanting support from the public, but only give us the fag-end when their enquiries come to nothing.

They are most definitely not local, and they do not appear to be from nearby regions either - perhaps they have travelled on by now. Times are getting harder and so more females are being deployed to increase income.

Perhaps we should all grab our pitchforks and flaming torches and march as a mob down to Meols Park playing fields?

Those bags they carry look ideal for stealing from shops.
I like the notion that they are "deployed" like troops.
I think they probably "deploy" themselves, little treasures.

Have you failed to notice that there are more female thieves around lately? People that no-one recognises? Generally if it is someone from the area, there will always be at least one person who will know who they are. The appearance of the two females shown is unusual, if you really look. Also, previously it has been youths or older men while the women have found jobs in the local area. Recruitment has become more strict.

I think this is the kind of community that Said would feel more comfortable in. It's for local people:
