Police have issued a CCTV image of a man we believe could have vital information to assist an investigation into a theft in Southport.
It was reported that at around 3pm on Friday, 21 December, a male had attempted to withdraw cash from an ATM at Sainsbury’s in Lord Street, before he walked away accidentally leaving the cash in the machine.
Shortly after, a male offender approached and took the money from the machine.
CCTV and witness enquiries into the theft have been carried out and enquiries are ongoing to locate the offender. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
Detective Inspector Tony O'Brien said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to please get in touch. We are particularly keen to trace the man pictured as we believe he could have vital information to assist our enquiries so if you recognise him, please let us know.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the social media desk @MerPolCC or call 101 with reference 18400073624 or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously, on 0800 555 111. You can also use their online form at: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-in...ve-information.

Age of him. With his winter fuel allowance he's probably on more money than most. Disgusting having someone's Christmas money.
