On double yellows, blocking the pavement on a bend in the road, forcing other cars and lorries to cross the central line. Police should come and ‘recover’ it immediately to the crusher.

lessons I have learnt from this should I visit Southport again ..
a/ if your car breaks down and gets in the way , some one will complain about it rather than offer a hand or word of help .
b/ leave it where it is , you will get a ticket any way .

That is just your typical jobsworth parking attendant on a quiet monday morning, and his manager will probably want proof now from the owner/driver regarding the ticket being issued, for the driver to appeal the ticket being issued, complete with a letter from the relevant recovery vehicles office,to PROVE it had been left there due to the obvious damage to the broken wheel, and hence being left on that corner,as it cannot be moved, and is now awaiting pick-up and removal at the earliest time that their recovery vehicle could get there...
PS ; The PnP and donkey22 are definitely as thick as 2 short planks with their replies to this post...How would they like it if it was THEIR vehicle that was damaged, and had to be left in that unfortunate situation ?

I'm guessing that will win an appeal. How bloody stupid booking a car that clearly can't move due to damage.

Where was the owner awaiting recovery? They should have been with the vehicle which was moved to that position it wouldn't have taken much more to have moved it another 3m or so to make it safer.

Seems unlikely it would have broken down on the pavement on a bend. If it was pushed there it could and should have been pushed somewhere it wasn't causing an obstruction

Yes what an inconsiderate automobile surely it should have had a mechanical failure right outside a car repairers.

It is obvious that the driver of the vehicle tried to move it out of the way as much as possible. If it had been there more than a couple of days - then yes, take action on it. But giving a parking ticket is not going to move the car!

I would love to see how the short thinkers on here would move it to somewhere safer on their own.
The car looks to have sustained a substantial suspension failure and needed an appropriate recovery vehicle.
Ticketing the vehicle might put people off having their vehicle recovered properly and safely.

Well you can thank all the scum bags who pretend to have broken down to avoid a ticket that the Parking services issue tickets as Standard Operating Procedure. Upon proof of a break down {usually a mechanic or recovery truck bill} the ticket would be cancelled. However, where it has been left is a hazard and it would have been safer to leave it away from the corner. What the Police do is up to them.

So was it already on the pavement when it broke down?
Presumably not, so if it was capable of being driven or pushed up a kerb onto the pavement then it was capable of being moved to a less obstructive position.
