Wouldn't have thought there's much demand for tennis in wet, windy, freezing weather anyway.

This has to be one of the most daft reports featured on this site, and - it's got some competition!

Those Tennis Courts within Victoria Park have never been flooded to this extent. Also noted is the fact that the park has become saturated during heavy rainfall over the past few years, to a far greater extent than previously. It is thought the cutting back of trees and shrubbery has encouraged this heavier flooding combined with concreting over the archery field causing additional heavy floods to the Children's play area, the Miniature Trains area, the Model Cars area and the Croquet green as well as the public footpath leading through the Caravan Park. Victoria Park is a very popular area for the local people, but considering that the unpopular extended caravan park lies on concrete over contaminated ground with insufficient drainage - surely these floods are a potential danger.
