The impressive new Aldi in Tarleton will make local history when it opens in late summer.
The newcomer at Windgate will be its first Lancashire supermarket with self service tills installed in a bid to boost efficiency and lower costs.
An Aldi spokesman added: “Construction for our new Tarleton store is progressing well as we move towards opening in late July this year.
"This will create up to 40 jobs for the community and enable local people to shop and save closer to home.”

That's funny. I was at the Irlam of the Heights store in Salford yesterday and used their self-service check-outs. They had some normal manned checkouts but 6 or 8 self-service ones too.
