The Rainbow Paradise Ball held in the Ambassador Suite at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa on 21st September raised over £29,000 for Rainbow House, the Mawdesley based charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities.

The annual event was organised by Lisa and Paul Maddison (pictured) and supported by Luke Martin, MD of Total Facility Solutions; Lisa and Paul’s daughter Katie has attended conductive education at Rainbow House since she was 18months old and has made tremendous progress with their help.

After enjoying a welcome drink on arrival, guests sat down to a four course dinner followed by live entertainment from The Wicker Men and a stunning performance from the Paradise Boys – thirteen brave Formby men who accepted a crazy challenge and formed a dance troupe to raise further funds. None were experienced dancers but, with the expert tuition of dance teacher Emma Lippitt, Lisa’s niece, they delighted the audience.

Guests could also bid for some fabulous prizes in the auction which included Fortnum & Mason hamper; Formby Golf Club Four Ball voucher; Signed Antony Joshua glove; Jake’s Home Improvement voucher; Signed and framed Steven Gerrard England shirt from his final game; 1995 Vintage Dom Perignon champagne; Original Formby Beach water colour; Liverpool Package including overnight in the Hilton plus meal for 2 and champagne at Albert Schenke; Ten bottle Prosecco package and an Artistic creation by famous artists Anthony and James Hunter together with the children of Rainbow House.

HSBC also continued their commitment to supporting Rainbow House with the donation of a fabulous diamond necklace, together with Santander and RBS who provided match funds and John Atherton of Edmund Bell for his generous support.

Said Lisa: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Luke Martin from Total Facility Services for his incredible support and to everyone else who supported the event, provided auction prizes and especially the Paradise boys for their performance of ‘Copocabana’ – they were fantastic.

"We were also very grateful to Ross Blair, brother of one of the dancers and BAFTA award winning producer and cameraman, who stepped in when our videographer was stuck in France and couldn’t make it to the event.”

Lyndsay Fahey, Head of Fundraising at Rainbow House, said, “Lisa’s Ball is always one of the highlights of the year and just gets bigger and better.

"The funds raised are absolutely fabulous and the fun and positivity on the night
    was something just as special.

"We cannot thank Lisa and Paul Maddison enough and all the guests and supporters and, in particular, the Paradise Boys who performed with such panache. They really were amazing!”
