This Christmas, ten larger than life festive Nutcracker statues will appear across Southport Town Centre, courtesy of Southport BID.

The six-foot nutcrackers will appear on the 20th of November in pop up locations all around the town centre. Christmas fans will be challenged to explore the town to find all ten Nutcrackers to be in with a chance of winning an iPad mini!

Southport BID has organised the trail to bring festive charm to the town centre and provide a unique, new attraction in the run up to Christmas

The BID, with Sandgrounder Radio are giving you the opportunity to name one of the Nutcrackers and personalise the trail to make it unique to Southport! Name suggestions can be submitted via Sandgrounder’s Facebook page and the ten best names chosen will be given to the Nutcrackers, for people to discover as part of the trail.

Not only that, the top three names will also receive a family ticket to the panto this December! The SDC’s spectacular family pantomime will be on at the Little Theatre, Hoghton Street, Southport between 18th December and 5th January. 3 family tickets will be waiting at the theatre for the lucky winners of the competition.

Andy Hilbert from Sandgrounder Radio said “This is going to be a magical event for not just the children but the whole family to get involved with and we’re very excited to be helping the team at Southport BID name the ten Nutcrackers”

The naming competition begins on the 21st October and names will be chosen on the 4th November. The Nutcrackers will appear around town on the 20th November until the 2nd January.
