    football ..... Merseyside V ManchesterSLIDE

well it is that time of the year Qlocal wakes up to the football season.

It is unusual times and I hope all the posters are coping.

It looks like this season will be more interesting than when Leicester won the Premiership.
Everton, Liverpool and Leicester all got off to a great start.
    But then what happened.
Is it because there is no fans in the stadium. that unusual results apear.
As a Liverpool fan said " Everton are top because they have no fan base so an empty stadium will make no difference".

Aston Villa 7 ................ they are also unbeaten this season.

The Derby.... this may be a chance for Everton to score a few hat tricks.

Man U have got off to a terrible start , I recon that Man C & Liverpool will still finish in top 4

The rise in Merseside clubs , a second coming, and the slide in Manchester has come.
    EVERTON 3points clear

Mmmm - I seem to recall that the last time Everton were in the ascendancy it was rioting Liverpool fans that put the mockers on European football for the Blues, thus stifling the impetus and deterring the best in Europe from joining them.

I've never seen dear hubby go from tipsy gleefulness to abject horror so quickly as last Sunday. Well not since the honeymoon, anyway...

A dyed in the wool Liverpool fan, he was joyfully declaring that our title chance was already over, and that Solskjær should be sacked immediately. Never had he seen a team defend so poorly.

    That was at 7pm.

The next 2 hours were pure bliss.

I think you need to look at the decade from 1980 to 1989 it might surprise you. The success of the 80's was washed down the drain thanks to the RS getting ALL English teams banned from European competition and a blossoming team broken up because of it.

So really it is only a couple of years difference in championsips won, nowt to shout about really.

Another fact you may not know is the last time your lot conceded like Sunday was 1963 and who won the League that year Everton, funny ol' game innit. Surprising how little supporters know about their clubs isn't it and I stopped going to football in the early 80's when Thatcher (she hated Liverpool too) had mortgage rates at 15% and like a lot of others my priorities were to my family not a football club.

This may give your memory a nudge as at the time your memory would be all at sea worrying about the fans killed at Heysel.

Nothing to do with Google just an interest and discussion with others, but when Top Fan Greengrass can't remember the 80's it just shows that jumping on bandwagons isn't really being a fan.

I always used to challenge people going on about Liverpool, Man Utd, Wigan Rugby League because they were winning things and they jumped on the bandwagon and I put a simple test to them " I'll pick you up in my car and you direct me to Anfield/Old Trafford/Central Park/JJB Stadium".
Funnily enough not one of these "Fans" took me up on the offer.

If you are going to make statements that are 20 years out of reality then it just proves that it isn't football in general just Liverpool that you are interested in.

I always remember a Liverpool fan I used to work with (a season ticket holder who went all over Europe watching them) telling me he was at Shankley's funeral and the Priest, putting things into perspective about football, saying "Everton's time will come again" and it did in the 80's unfortunately their neighbours got ALL English teams banned from Europe something that will stain them forever but you never hear about in their fans "love" of football.

. Your lot will never match Liverpools achievements.

Deserved overall but Adrian has to go. I get palpitations every time the ball is anywhere near him. 2/3 feeble punches from crosses landed at the feet of an Ajax player. We could have lost the game because of him.
