No way! Our dogs were kept in a sheltered outhouse and were free to roam over the farm. They mostly fed on rats and other small vermin and were used as guard dogs giving warning of poachers and foxes etc., Each dog was well trained. They each had gleaming coats, bright eyes and were full of energy, just as a dog should be.
I do not keep a dog now because I live in town situations where it would be impossible to give a dog the life it really needs. Since dogs are most content where they are not subjected to constant changes, and my work takes me away from home often - it would not be fair to the animal.

I did not do any. I had been born into farming and was still young when the farm was taken over by the landlord. That is another story - that you probably would not believe that either as it involved an aerodrome, nissan huts and some very eventful times. It would be difficult to prove today as there is very little, if any, mention of the place now. But, there would not be as it is not true - is it?

Try me. I know you were brought up in Southport, and I've been around for a long time so I might remember the place. Obviously it wasn't Woodvale!
I come from a long line of farmers, although my dad chose not to follow in his father's footsteps.
