How short peoples memories are, There was a young lad killed down there on a motor bike after hitting the letter box.

Well if your going a couple of miles over then the chances are you won't get done anyway. Most police forces give 10% plus two miles an hour, not a legal requirement but on average that is what they allow. Again on average your speedo is around 2mph faster than what you are doing. So again on average if your speedo says 37mph there is a good chance you get 'away' with it. Any more than that you take your gamble.

If you've had to speed to go past someone or something and didn't see the camera before doing so, Maybe you shouldn't have overtaken in the first place. As you're clearly not very observant of your surroundings.

thankyou for the curteous flashing (headlights..) of a taxi driver to warn me that day...i never speed down there anyway but its nice people care!...but i dont really understand why roe lane is a target...iv never seen any bad speeding,,its a wide well lit road, i have never seen an accident there in my life....other roads like albert rd, queens rd, leyland rd are far more dangerous...does a councillor live on roe lane??

Roe lane is often used as a race track. I have family on Roe lane and I know drivers and bikers who have hit 3 figures down there.

But daytime speed checks wont stop the midnight racers

The only way to stop it is to have a 'Black Box' in all vehicles, a personal key to switch the car on and any transgressions can be automatically uploaded to the Insurance company and the Police.
