Should Shemima Begum be allowed back in the UK?

I say yes on the grounds she was a child when the initial crime was committed.

Let her home to face any charges as an adult.

My gut instinct is 'no'. She shows no remorse for her crimes. She's demanding that the British people sympathise with her. And she's basically saying she's only coming home to get her child treated on the NHS.

I know there are other sides to this story. I know she was groomed. I know she was a child when she left. But her lack of remorse, or some might say 'arrogance', is something I find repugnant.

I know she's a British citizen. I know I should be looking at her as a victim. Which of course she is. But had her husband not been killed, had her little patch of ISIS heaven not have been destroyed, would she still want to be here?

Now that she has given birth is the child not Syrian in which case she can stay there. She didnt appear to care when she lost one child to the awful environment she was living in, nor did she care when she lost the second one but now that ISIS is losing its grip she suddenly wants to come home for the sake of her child.
She made her own way out there, if sge wishes to come back then she can do that on her own and face being arrested at the airport and her child taken away for being an unfit mother. Give her those conditions then see if she still wishes to come home.

The child is British due to the mothers nationality in the future
she could hold dual nationality having been born in Syria.

Shemima does not hold dual nationality with any country.
Taking away her British nationality does not seem right after reading the details.

I don't think I would feel this way in every situation particularly boys joining Jihadi fighters.
Surely as far as it is known the 'Jihadi Bride' syndrome is religious grooming not murderous intent.

Due to her being a British nationsl then yes, she will have to come back here otherwise she would be stateless which is against international law but that doesn't mean we have to be in agreement with it.
If her family wants her back then let them pay for it and sort it. I don't see why we should assist her at all. Was she groomed, who knows, but she has most definitely been indoctrinated. If someone, in her words, can see beheaded heads in a bin and not be fazed then she is dangerously affected.
Weirdly, just on the news now, anyine with flybmi have to make their own way home from wherever tgey are stuck, could be 100's of passengers stranded and yet we should tend to the needs of one who chose to run away??

There is no British Embassy in Syria.
I guess some newspaper will pay her and arrange her flight to the UK.

Even so Shemima still needs to get to a country with Embassy and assuming she still has her passport.

This stupid girl is just one of many who have already returned or wish to return plus of course surprise, surprise there are more than a few Syrians among the latest spate of cross channel ""refugees"",

I would regard anyone returning from IS controlled areas with the utmost suspicion, surely we have an uninhabited remote island were these medieval worshipping thugs can be landed, given all the trappings of a medieval era without needing support, technology, energy from the "decadent" West, then they can carry on their medieval lifestyle unhindered.

As far as I am concerned she gave up her rights to be British the day she and her friends made their own way to join IS, who, let’s not forget are an extreme terrorists group that despise all things that the UK and the Western world stand for.

The only reason she now wants to come back to the UK is IS are virtually defeated and is using the fact that she has a new baby as an emotional lever.
She shows absolutely no remorse or made an apology and in her own words was “not fazed” at seeing captives severed heads in buckets, no one knows what she has been doing out there and what skills / contacts she has gained.

There is a great danger that some of those who return after being part of the Islamic State movement continue the fight at home.
There are so many reasons why she shouldn’t be allowed to set foot in the UK again, but unfortunately the law says different, no doubt she will come back to a council house and benefits as I can’t see many companies rushing to employ her.
Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Technically, you are right about the child's nationality - but in practice, the child takes the father's nationality. i.e. a child born in Syria to a Syrian father takes a Syrian nationality. The mother should not be allowed to keep a British passport since the action she took is an insult to the British people and our country. If she is allowed to stay in the UK, it makes our leadership look stupid. She made her bed and now she must lie on it!

The same goes for anyone who has been requested and been allowed the privilege of a British passport. This implies that that person's interests now lay with the UK. To act in opposition to the people of Britain is to show the total disrespect of a traitor to Britain.
