In fairness, wherever the Marvin Arbiton character goes, speculation ensues.

    From the other site:-

Southport: at risk of becoming Britain’s biggest scary attraction – a living ghost town

One resident, Marvin Arbiton (who lives in Chester) said: “What is going on in Southport?”

“About twenty blocks of flats are up for sale, the Shakespeare Centre is up for sale, The Coronation Pub is up for sale, the Post Office on Cemetery Road is up for sale, Intersport Shop up for sale, etc., is the town dying?”

**Correction on the original article, Domestic Appliance Shop on Wesley Street is not up for sale**

NB. Recent claims have been alleged that Marvin Arbiton appears to have some trouble knowing what sex he is, according to ‘his’ post from another page.

    Marvin Arbiton

I have had four children, born in Southport. There were complications with the last two which meant it was vital to attend hospital in the shortest time. Two of my children had to remain in hospital for a while. My husband was away at the time - there was no recourse to Paternal Leave, and he was using the only vehicle we had. There was a good bus service and I could get to the hospital within ten minutes. I dread to think what I would have done if I had to travel backwards and forwards for an hour each way to Ormskirk. Let's not be silly over such an important issue, lives are at risk - bring back maternity care to Southport!
The population of Ormskirk is claimed to be 28,000 people. The population of Southport is said to be 120,00, so it is that more people have to travel a greater distance compared to far fewer people travelling the same distance? (Is that a mathematical miscalculation by Labour) Ormskirk NHS operates under the national average standards - though the high grade staff are working very hard to correct this. It is not the actual hospital that is in question - it is most definitely the time and the length of travel to get there where the problem is.

I'm most impressed that Marvin and his husband are out and proud. And they had 4 kids. A blended family.

    He's a #ProudBoy indeed.

Have to wonder what kind of bus gets from Chester to Southport in 10 minutes, though.

Wouldn't it be gorgeous if Marvin and his hubby were posters on this forum?! Qlocal would have its very own Elton & David.

I was sorry to read of the double trouble Marv had with his last two. Poor lambs. The poor lambs.

I'm a bit confused to read that someone told Marvin that Southport has a population of 120,000. Probably someone given to exaggeration, I would imagine.

Yes, it would be great to hear more about this bus that gets from Chester to Southport in 10 minutes! 10 minutes travel time on a bus sounds more like a length of journey time from, maybe, Birkdale to Southport. Who would need the HS2, when there's a supersonic bus service available?!

I was surprised to read that the only reason Marv didn't take the van was because hubby was away and using it. As Marvin can't drive, I don't see what difference vehicle access makes.

There can be no doubt that I do commend Marvin for the following fine words: "Let's not be silly over such an important issue, lives are at risk." Now, if only his other soul mate, Said, would heed that sentiment. Here's hoping.

Talking of Elton and male duos:

Don't let the sun go down on Marvin & hubby. They'd be like people in the shadows.

    What are they called, again?

Anyroad, I believe that Marv is the 'bear' at the front:

Shadow People, is it? I think it was Trump (and a non-entity goofball) who said about them.

Yes, more a bear than a wolf. (I'm sure you're not refferring to that Timmy Mallet type character who comes on half-way through.)

I was! I thought the front 3 might have been Marv, hubby and Joanie. I thought she might be there in support.

Shadow people? That must be it. I knew it was something to do with 'shadows' and 'people'. Although the folk on Marv's video don't seem very shadowy. More out there, glittery, fabulous and on fleek.

Oh Gawd! You were referring to the Mallett in combats, puffer gilet and ski goggles!

Although Marv's obviously a kookster, he does have the under-appreciated barrel-with-stubble look nailed down. He surprised me just by managing to raise his arms above shoulder height, and then sort of move them side-to-side, mirroring the graceful motion of faulty windscreen wipers. And as a further plus, he step-touched side-to-side with the charming tempo of a mutton spit-roast.

    Impressive .
