Tory conference is scheduled for next week isn't it?
Expect a suspension/recess vote for at least those days it is due to occur (Sun to Wed?) ... whether the vote get's passed will be interesting though !

They've had the vote (for recess) and lost it (shocker).

Quite right to its our new democracy in action, letting a party have a recess for a party conference is totally out of order.
Letting them govern is of course wrong and letting the people vote for a new government that might actually do something is clearly another new wrong.
Still these pyrrhic victories for the opposition should be allowed to continue as it plays out so well in the country.
I cannot believe how easily these parties gullible politicians are exposing themselves to the countries ire.

Stopping all those old people having a party conference in Manchester so that Parliament can carry on frustrating Brexit is manna from heaven for the Tories you might think one of the opposition MP's would realise it.
Their little beaming faces as they trundle up to the speaker is pure comedy gold.

Get no deal out of the way and you'll get your election, the real problem is so many still appear to believe the Brexit propaganda, plus as Toodles has already observed, when we see people interviewed on the street, the number who say they don't understand or they don't know what is at stake, yet then follow up backing leave??????

The Tories are the ones who asked for the break, nobody is stopping anybody having a Party Conference, quite a number of Tories including their allies the UDP voted against.

Of course the remain narrative has always been that there are 17.4 million thick people who voted with their clubbed hands and over 16 million intellectual giants who understood everything and marked the papers with their gifted hands.
Such pompous arrogance, typical from the I'm alright Jack brigade desperate to stay in their club.
The EU stands for the few, not the many The EU was set up as a capitalist trading bloc.
The truth is that everything the EU does is in the interests of big business and the bosses.
As John Mcdonnell says “When I speak to the city managers, asset managers and bankers, they now see the greater element of stability for them both in terms of the long term future of the economy and investment—and on Brexit itself—comes from us rather than from the Tories,” he said.
I suppose I must attribute this its from the Socialist Worker
