Old Southport Number Plate on TV - SFY 100
Just seen an advert on TV for Wellman Vitamins starring David Gandy that features him driving a car with a number plate originally issued in Southport. The numbers issued in Southport were FY or WM.
Anyone seen any other Southport registered cars / numbers on TV or Film ?.

Any ideas where the Mayoral cars numberplates (sold a few years ago) FFY 1 and FFY 2 ended up?

That is certainly not an Australian number plate. If it were it would show the state in which the car was registered, on the plate.
Just be yourself, no one else is better qualified!!

I don't recall seeing who purchased them or how much they received for them.
I think they were subject to sealed bids (which the sceptical side of me thinks is open to abuse)

Just come across this beauty, 1952 Jaguar Mk 2 restored and tastefully upgraded by Jaguar design director, Ian Callum.
Not sure if it’s original registration number but definitely the number originated from Southport.

Nice car.
Jaguar used my personalised car number plate in their advert.
registered in c1903in Lanarkshire "V12"
Bootle's Mayor car plate "EM 1" was owned by Mr E Morris first and then swaped it for EM 9999 and EM 8888. A1 was sold a few days after it was introduced back in 1902/1903 for £10,000 some interesting facts.

What a beauty, if it was registered in Southport in 1952 I wonder who the supplying garage would have been ?
Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
