Welcome to the new head,

but who was the former head and teachers that helped pupils gain the results surely its them that need the credit.

In years to come we can consider the achievements of the new head.

It's a good point - who was the old head? Applying the logic of the article, it should be lamenting the departure of that person. Fact is those results will be due of a combination of factors. Achieving good results is a process that takes a number of years.

My son was identified with special needs but received excellent support at Farnborough Road particularly from the senco. He then went to Birkdale Boys which at the time was in special measures. Despite these challenges he has now achieved a place at Oxford to study history. This is due to the support he received throughout his school career and not down to one head teacher - however 'super' or 'charismatic' they may be.
