    New Das Boot, any good?

My favourite film ever is Das Boot about a German u boat in wwii.

Heard about a new follow up on Sky Atlantic.

Any thoughts, I would hate to spoil my memories of such an amazing story.

    I would watch it.

    Watched 'Roma' last night.
    Brilliant and utterly thought provoking.

The 1972 film set locations superbly realistic.

yeh great series really caught its essence.sadly most remakes don't quite catch the moments, and rely on modern day effects, and add ons .another springs to mind .flight of the phoenix, several others too.some movies just got it right first time, and more organically made.

Have yet to watch Roma but am prompted to with the recent awards.

As regards other foreign language films of note, have to mention Cinema Paradiso? One of my most favourite films ever.

Went to see 'Instant Family' today.
    Really enjoyed it.

Lots of humour and original dialogue on a modern theme.

We saw it last week. Like you I thought it was brilliant. The camera work was amazing, so good that even my anti-B&W film husband didn't complain. A slice of life that we wouldn't ordinarily see, and one that really drew me in to the lives of the characters... especially Cleo.
