It was a Labour led cross party motion to prevent a no deal Brexit, the margin was 11 votes, brought about by those who have said they would be prepared to suspend parliament in order to force through Brexit at any price, any cost.

First step to one party rule and dictatorship, of course led by Tories.

Good Heavens, no! It is the EU itself that was becoming a dictatorship! our governments are elected in every five years - the EU is a law unto itself!

Jeremy Corbyn didn't sound happy. His reaction to the loss sounded like he'd suffered a personal affront:

I think we need to have another vote; those MP's who voted against the motion didn't understand what they were voting against.
Surely, because as Keir Starmer suggested that it was 'novel' ; he said that it was a response to the threat to deprive MP's of a say in a decision that will define the country's future, then we need to have a second vote, then if necessary a third vote, until we get the vote that they want, you know it makes sense, (to a remainer, anyway).
Incidentaly that 11 vote margin was somewhat similar to the Referendum vote, this time the 'ayes' 49.1% and the 'noes' 50.9%

Neutering our negoriators was never a good idea and maybe now the new blood in Brussels will take the opportunity to have another look at the sticking points in the withdrawal agreement.

It is clearly in both sides interests and the childish, "we won't look again" was always posturing from people promoted out of their ability range.

Labour bringing a motion to end by analogy the right to withdraw Labour does seem odd to say the least.

I am sure some of their Union backers are uneasy.

I am sick of "EXPERTS" on here telling us that WE didn't know what we were voting for, now it has hit new heights Members of Parliament didn't know what they were voting for. Get your head out of your condescending rectum before you suffocate.

DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE THE E.U. YES OR NO? YES WON GET OVER IT.

I have but some only like democracy when it comes up with the decision they want, losing the intellectual argument is still a problem for them.

I am sure though in our new tortured democracy there will be some more attempts to rerun this vote in some form or another by the losers.

Love how people think this could just be done with a yes/no vote.

No matter which way you voted how can you be happy with the current situation. The country has shafted itself. Now we are probably going to have Boris in charge. Good god, who on earth wants that idiot in charge apart from the very rich? This country is about to implode. Possibly taking the E.U. with it. Some may be made up with that idea, but personally I kind of liked the peace that came with it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find the results of voting appear to be very suspicious. First there were anomalies in the Scottish vote for independence, then the referendum - I defy anyone to say that there were genuinely that number who voted to remain, considering that every single person with an odd dissenter - who was calling for Brexit, and that was over the whole of the UK. It is and was a very hot topic among the people no matter what party they supported. I believe also - that is why the Government were so surprised with the result. The London area and Scottish areas were the only exception, where the total voting population is no more than 10 million?? Then the anomalies over the South Thanet vote, and now the Peterborough elections are being investigated. Postal voting should not be allowed, neither should voting from outside the UK, nor electronic voting.

You reckon? You feel it acceptable for wannabe PMs to say they will suspend parliament to get their agenda through, I don't feel that is right whatever the proposal or motion.

Just think how much power this places in the hands of any PM to use an emergency measure to implement their particular policy without interference or objections from anyone.

    He did, didn't he? .

Interesting to hear him sound a bit rattled.

    But why was that?
