The party had a leadership election won clearly by Johnson with an absolutely clear message , how were the party and its MP's conned ?

Some of the rebels even stood against him and lost.

In particular Amber Rudd and Jo Johnson took ministerial positions in his government absolutely clear on his wishes.

I of course have no judgement, I voted with the majority to leave the EU.
