I noticed that a couple of the women who signed the letter were instrumental in the Kew Playground Campaign, or, as Simon Shaw puts it "Labour Activists" The immaturity of some of the Lib-Dem councillors is beyond belief.
I've read many complaints re. Moore blocking constituents on Twitter. While he's perfectly entitled to block people who ask awkward questions, I don't believe that it's in his best interests to do so. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
"Activist" is one of those terms which can be a description of someone taking action to try to better things. It's a term that does indeed seem to often find use as a label, rather than as a simple term.
A similar effect seems to be in action when the term "populist" is used as a label to refer to someone who simply may be popular and have a ready ability to connect with people.
Not a / the "banned" username(s) "from about 3 years ago" but still I note I haven't read a prasnee post in a while. With the LIb Dems recently exceeding expectations it would be interesting to again read prasnee's comments.

SOUTHPORT MP accused of free speech hate in blanket twitter ban
By
On The Spot News
27th March 2018
Furious residents have asked why Southport’s MP has blocked them on twitter.
The free speech ban is believed to be down to challenges against Moore’s voting habits.
The letter reads…
“Dear Damien Moore,
We the undersigned are all constituents of Southport that have been banned from commenting on one or more of your social media accounts.
While we have been politely critical of some of your posts, we would hope that it would be possible to engage meaningfully with our elected representative through such avenues, and we are disappointed that you are unilaterally choosing not to do this.
We request that, unless you can provide evidence of discourtesy or unpleasantness, you remove the bans and engage in political debate in an adult and democratic manner.
Yours sincerely
Dawn Aspinall, Janis Blackburne, Dr. Leo Donnelly, Sandra Hazeldon, Linda Heap, Anna Hubbard Rolf Jordan, Dr. Dave Neary, Samantha Sanderson-Marshall, Frances Spall
Ged Wright”

Surely it is up to the account holder to decide to ban certain contacts without explanation.

Could just have been a mere whiff of something not right.
Only he knows.

It is, but some try to sanitize their pages to remove any trace of critiicsm or dissent.

Last year in a ruling by a Federal judge, Donald Trump was told that he couldn't block critics on his Twitter account. Twitter is a public forum, blocking members from voicing their political opinion violates their right to free speech.

Just read a condemnation of some of the following comments included in a given link (provided on another forum thread). The guilty poster was issued (at that time) with a ban:
https://www.qlocal.co.uk/southport/f...5034439-11.htm
Dreadful comments from the BNP member (if, as seems probable, they've been renewing their membership) in question.
Reading through that episode of ugly ignorance so happens to serve to reinforce TM's considered observation earlier on this thread about the commonalities between supposedly polar opposites of extremism - with the following link helpfully provided (by her) for elaboration:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory
Well worth a read, I suggest.

If you're looking in on the forum, H, I hope you're enjoying what appears to be your break from posting on the forum.
I daresay many posters will come to miss you for reason that they are now only really left with said as the poster with whom to regularly argue!
Such poverty! .
Btw, there has been interesting speculation about why you've been absent!
I note there, as predicted and simultaneous with your absence, has been a marked dip in the forum output of your dear old "very special forum friend".
Pretty much less of it being trotted out .

Ha! .
They've gone to a small habour town on the edge of the city of Sevastopol? .
Stranger things have happened at sea, but the only scenario in which I could imagine happily-married Hamble being hooked up with an obsessive black-Balaklava wearer would be in an abductee-kidnapper relationship!
The "holiday photos" would currently be being analysed by the police!
The closest thing to a postcard would be the ransom demand!

I resent that! I am not at the bottom of the barrel, as it were. I have had some very good training in arguing on this site, not the least of which from your very good self! However, I will concede that Hamble is better at it than me, and will soon be back to beat the hell out of you.
