I think my dog has gone vegan.

    He loves celery and carrots.

My last three spaniels have all had chopped carrot, celery & a bit of apple mixed with their tea.
It has been said that when helping people change their behaviour – “the spirit in which help is offered” is the most important aspect, more than the degree of skills and knowledge of the helper!

I remember some years back giving my two dogs a complete Christmas dinner each. When I returned to the bowls they were licked clean but, nestling in the bottom of each bowl, were three sprouts - completely licked clean of gravy!
More recently I had a Springer and the exact same thing happened when I gave her a Christmas dinner!

Many moons ago, when I pulled out a couch to clean under it, I found 2 raw sprouts. Our dog must have snaffled them from the kitchen floor. "What were they doing on the kitchen floor?", I hear you ask. I'm a messy peeler/chopper and things tend to fall on the floor. The dog knew this, and always stood at my feet waiting for a treat to fly off the counter. In the case of these 2 sprouts, he obviously didn't think much of his treat!

My friend's Yorkie adored carrots. It was his special treat. He was absolutely mad for them.

I'm sure I've heard of other dogs loving them too.

My ex racing greyhound had to be fostered for a few months before she could be re-homed as she was severely traumatised.
Her foster mum told me that the dog hated all vegetables known to man but stole and ate a whole block of butter. She still loves it too, 8 years later, so no chance of her becoming vegan!

My doggie is a rescue dog. When he came to us he ate a whole block of butter too.We always make sure everything on the surfaces is well back and out of reach. He also managed to eat a loaf of bread.
    Dogs make you smile.
    He has calmed down now.

Not quite on the subject but my first 2 cats plotted together to have a roast chicken for their lunch. One jumped up on the worktop where the chicken was cooling and knocked it off to her friend who was waiting below. By the time I saw what they had done they had full tummies!

People who talk about dumb animals are the dumb ones!

P.S. Toothache did not dislike the above post by Whiplash. I tried to ‘like’ but dislike came up. I must have fat fingers. Sorry Whiplash!
