Bijou Botanics, New Cut Lane (craft sale)

I didn't know until recently about this small garden centre, next to the rspca. Has anybody else visited? It has a cafe/restaurant and the food looks delicious.

It also sells crafts and they have a sale on with lots and lots of craft dies and stamps for half price. (not many shops in Southport that sell crafts anymore.)

We were going to pop to Dobbies but ended up here instead. Had toffee choc cheesecake and Lavazza flat white, both were lovely. Would definitely go again but for lunch next time as the meals coming out of the kitchen looked delicious and the table eating the meals confirmed this. Thanks for the reminder Slothy

the reason you don't see many craft shops is people wont pay for handcrafted, most craftworkers couldn't get a minimal rate per hours skills and dedication given,so it includes the intrest and love factor buy its creators.weve got used to the acceptance of cheap tat from our far eastern factory slave laboured purveyors ,that when it comes to appreciating a product that's been individualy and quality made, thats become a thing of past years society.weve become as cheap as the tat we get these days in every aspect of modern days interactions.

(apologies for not replying to this thread I started.)

I already knew that the owners of Bijou Botanics run a craft stamping business, and the lady, Wendy. is live on the craft television programme Hochanda, NOW. She is also on the television at 4pm.

Hochanda (which I think stands for Home of crafts, hobbies and arts) is on channel 85 freeview, sky 673 and freesat 817.

Agree with your post. But I know one of Southport's craft shops closed down because they couldnt afford their rent rise. (how familiar this sounds.)

The craft industry is huge, more and more products are being released everyday. Small shops can't possibly stock it all so people buy on the internet.
