    Beautiful Day

Got up to gorgeous weather today and decided to go to Brabyns Park and Marple Locks.

Lovely walk to the historic Aqueduct and Iron bridge.

Its good to look forward to Spring.

And Spring is definitely on its way! Glad you enjoyed your walk, it is a nice area. I still have not completed all around Rivington yet.

We saw daffodils fully open too.

Went to Rivington again last week.
It is best done in parts anyway as the area is so large and diverse.

We lived on Brabyn's Brow when very young, right next to the pet cemetery. Probably isn't there any more, it's been decades since I went.

It's a lovely part of the world. I often wish my parents had stayed in Marple. I'm going to have to go on Google Earth now, to see if it's changed a lot

    That is such a coincidence!
It is a lovely place to live in.
We parked in a car park on Brabyn's Brow walked through the park then back up to the canal.

There's a row of white cottages at the entrance to the park. We lived at the nearest to the entrance. I Googled it and the pet cemetery is gone. Quite sad about that.

    House looks tiny now though

    Just googled the cottages.
I bet that road was not so busy when you were a child.
It has a crossing halfway even then we had to run.

It was pretty busy even back in the 60s. We used to wait at the corner of the garden for relatives coming down the hill from the station. Mum stopped that after there were several lorries that lost control on the Brow. There were a few times when they'd crash into the side of the bridge at the bottom.

We also had a stupid dog that would lie in the road and stop the traffic

    Happy days
