Anyone received one of these? Is it a scam?
Supposedly from Home Office
Total cost:

For the following: the use of a vehicle on a road in the charging area which a charging scheme applies without payment of the appropriate charge, at the date and timestarted below

Time: 16:24 PM
If you do not respond before the end of the period of 28 days beginning with the date of service of this notice a charge certificate may be issued which would increase the penalty charge to £80.96 GBP.

It does uses the word "charge" a lot, doesn't it?

It doesn't include your name, address, car registration detail, etc...! (But they have your email address!)
From the "Home Office"!

I see from the screenshot on Rigsby's post that they'd put a bit more effort into it than I'd thought.
Always amusing when scammers claim to be from a Government department that, inexplicably, is unavailable to contact - as you can always find that department's contact details on their website.

And it's not just the twenty quid that you'd lose.....Having paid it by card, the scammers will use those card details to clear out plenty more £££'s from the victims account.

Forward these emails to report@phishing.gov.uk

Also your ISP should have fraud departments so look for their email addresses and send to them as well.

Far too obvious - the fines given are too low.
The phone number given relates to the HMRC
There is no penalty reference given
There is name of owner of vehicle given
There is no description of vehicle concerned
No payment office quoted
They should have hired me - I could write out a better scam than that.

That's an apt addition to this thread about bogus claims.
If there were any signs that you proofread your posts, your boast might then carry a modicum of credence.
