Aikido in Southport
Hello everybody,
I am forming an Aikido Club in Southport, which I will co-ordinate and teach in the Ainsdale & Woodvale Recreation Centre (Bodds Gym).
It will use as it's foundation Iwama style Aikido and will, eventually, also include weapons training for the more advanced students.
I am seeking mature people who are interested in training for reasons of Self-Protection, Self-Development, Physical Fitness etc.
It doesn't matter your age, (in fact I welcome people who think that they are either 'too old' or 'too unfit'), gender or fitness levels-you will be able to train at your own pace and your Fitness, Strength, Endurance and Power will quickly improve.
All classes will stress Partner Training and sufficiency. Increased fitness will be a by-product of the training.
What is more important is a positive attitude, good training manners and a commitment to train on a regular basis, even if that is only one class per week.
In the first instance I will be running one class a week on Saturday mornings from 10.00 to 11.30.
Contact me (Simon) for further information on 07708 30 88 41, please tell me about yourself, your age, what Martial Arts experience you have (if any), your current level of fitness and what you want to achieve.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Please note that for Insurance etc reasons I can only teach over 14s.

Southport Aikido is growing
Following a very successful startup Southport Muto Aikido Club are going to be running a second weekly training session.
So far we have been holding one training session a week at Dunes Leisure Centre on Saturday mornings but from 24th August we will also be training every Tuesday. We have teamed up with the Unite Martial Arts Academy on Tulketh Street (at the back of Ashleys garage) and will be holding Aikido lessons every Tuesday evening from 7.00 to 8.30.
Aikido is a defensive martial art that is suitable for people of all ages and abilities whether you are interested in keeping fit ,want a means to defend yourself or simply want an enjoyable way to wind down after a long day. Take a look at our web site www.southportaikido.co.uk for more information or come along to one of our classes to see what we do or email me at enquiries@southportaikido.co.uk.
Children’s classes are planned for the future but for now we can only take 16s and over.
